Original form
Embellished mirror
Requiem was once an embellished mirror, used and cared for by a well-off family. Meeting the Esk
The mirror, once a beautiful showpiece, laid there before the Wanderer, utterly broken, irreparable, and completely forgotten. Its strange complexion was reflected in the shards, and the creature must've felt bad about what it saw, for its face contorted slightly, into something that almost seemed like grief. The other
X
Requiem doesn't quite know how to feel about their creator. It seems like the Wanderer is trying to help, trying to do good, but simply doesn't know how to. Perhaps that's why their relationship is somewhat awkward. Requiem doesn't resent the other for transforming them into what they are today, but also doesn't feel gratitude towards the act. In fact, they're quite unsure about why X decided to transform them, and just what they expect now that they're alive. The treshold
Shaping their environment
Requiem is a silent creature, something that will scare off those who mean harm, but will let others go about their day as they please. They're seen as somewhat of a guardian to the fallen city and the surrounding forests. The creatures know they can trust the Esk, and sometimes even stay around to provide company. Humans, even when there still seem to be objects of value to be found at the ruins, tend to stay far away because of the rumors of a great beast protecting the city. |
Boundary
Ancient ruins
Requiem's boundary are ancient ruins located in Europe. The city was once a city filled with life, but is now reduced to ruins forgotten by mankind. Requiem likes their boundary, likes the way the city was given back to nature and is slowly becoming part of it once again. It's nice, seeing animals walk there without fear. Losing their way
The city fell. They can't quite remember what caused it, but Requiem knows the word chaos doesn't even begin to describe it. The beautiful buildings were torn down, and as soon as it all began, it ended. Everything was reduced to rubble and dust, and not a single life was to be found. The mirror, too, wasn't recognisable anymore. Reflecting shards covered the the ground in a golden light, its beautiful silver frame now bent and broken. The transformation
It was as if light itself was created. Wether it was the creation of a new soul that lit up the ruins, or the moonlight simply hitting the shards from different angles, one couldn't tell, but it was almost magical. Their purpose
Requiem exists as a reminder of what once was. At least that's what they believe. They wander the ruins aimlessly, but still remember vividly what those very same ruins once looked like in their full glory. They can recall every twist and turn to get to one particular part, and sometimes even seem to remember faces of those who are long lost. They believe they serve as nothing but a memory, a ghost of the past, only there as a reminder. Their haunt
First time outside their Boundary
Requiem's first time outside their boundary was during their first moments as an Esk. X took them out to see the city, bustling and full of life, life that Requiem's boundary no longer possessed after its fall. Seeing all these people- Requiem wasn't sure how to feel about it. |
